Weekly general body meetings(1 hour) and occasional events
. Consistent attendance is tracked and factors into eligibility for trips like Sacramento and D.C. sually, we hold general meetings every Tuesday at 5pm. Any updates regarding meeting times and locations will be posted in our Discord server or on Instagram (@ucsblc).
Real, hands-on experience in policy research, public speaking, coalition building, and lobbying — plus direct access to legislators most students never get to meet, and a professional network across the UC system.
Members can apply to attend the UC Student Lobby Conference in Sacramento, UC Hill Day in Washington, D.C., the Students of Color Conference, etc all fully funded.
Lobby Corps is UCSB’s student-run advocacy unit, where activism, professionalism, and strategy come together. We research pending legislation, write and propose legislation, train students to lobby state and federal legislators, and take members on fully-funded trips to Sacramento and Washington, D.C. Whether you’re passionate about a specific issue, just want real-world experience, or to travel and gain skills there’s a place for you here!
No experience is necessary!
Anyone! Lobby Corps is open to ALL majors and has no formal interview process. Attending a meeting and joining our Discord server are the first steps to getting involved!
